Review of Cork City Ramble, a lively 75-minute walk through Cork landmarks, local stories, maritime history, and the English Market.

“I really got a sense of the history of Cork and its Centre City. Noel, our guide, was lovely. Patient, kind and knowledgeable. His passion for his community, city and country shown through. He added some personal touches to the tour that were particularly special. Mt favorite was the mural of Frederick Douglass. I did not know that he had been invited by the city of Cork to speak there. Viewing his mural so many miles away from my home in the US and the day after Dr. King’s holiday was especially poignant. Highly recommend.”

“We usually take private tours with our family. This time there are only 2 of us so we take the semi-private tours with Viator and find it very nice. Traveling in a mini-van with just a few more folks gets us around quickly everywhere. We loved the Blarney castle visit and the Jameson's experience was exceptional. We do not drink but enjoy the distillery knowledge and even bought the Jameson sweatshirt.”

“Oliver, our driver snd guide was awesome! He asked us where we wanted to go and we told him it was his choice and he did a fabulous job. The only thing we were confused about was at Charles Fort which he thought was included but wasn’t so we just paid the admission fee but then they didn’t even give us a “guided” tour. Don’t bother with that if you’re there! The 9/11 memorial brought tears to our eyes and the Coleman cathedral was amazing along that dock area (we happened to be docked at the industrial dock). The Jameson tour was excellent but we were a little pressed for…”

Cycle Cork’s Marina, Passage West Greenway, Blackrock Pier, Cobh, or Blarney Castle with bike hire, helmet, lock, and route advice.

“We loved riding the green way and seeing the views along the water. It was a bit complicated to get there. We purchased a train ticket and rode to Cork which is the end of the line. Once there, we used google map to walk the 25 minutes. However, there were some concerns about whether we were actually going to arrive somewhere, as we were walking through industrial areas and it looked like a dead end. Once arrived, the place was wonderful. Very cool outdoor market with lots of “food carts “! The young man at the bike place was fantastic…very friendly and personable 🤗”
